WILLIAM Parker Sports College held ceremonies for its students to celebrate their achievements over the past year.
Staff, students and parents came together to see a variety of trophies, shields and plates being presented on stage to those in Years 7, 8, 9, and 10.
The presentations were awarded to students in recognition of their outstanding performances, which included Year 8s winning the Cricket County Championship, the Junior and Inter teams winning the English Schools Track and Field County Cup, as well as the Year 9s and Year 8s winning the FA District Cup.
During each event the audience was treated to drama and musical performances.
Visitors were then given a brief talk from Parkwood 6th Form students thanking them for supporting their recent charity work in Kabubbu, Uganda.
The Year 9 Celebration Evening also had a surprise visit by the Olympic torch, which was brought in by Keith Leech, the torchbearer who lit the cauldron at The Stade at last Tuesday’s event.
