Warning over scrap-seeking trio

At 9.30am on Monday May 23, a Poppinghole Lane resident spotted the trio in a builders van, which had a flat bed and drop sides, trying to get into the stables area of a property via a gate, which is electronically operated.

When challenged, the men said they were looking for scrap metal.

A witness described the men as aged in their late teens or early twenties and all three had ginger hair.

Phillip Ball, of Sussex Horse Watch, said: “Please be vigilant and look out for this type of vehicle, if possible get its registration details and then report them to the police and/or me.”
