VOTE: Waitrose set to arrive in Littlehampton

COULD Waitrose be the key that kick-starts Littlehampton’s multi-million pound town centre redevelopment?

That was the intriguing question raised by the surprise announcement of the upmarket chain’s move into Littlehampton at the beginning of August.

Waitrose, the foodstore division of the highly successful John Lewis Partnership, is taking over the struggling Somerfield supermarket at Anchor Springs creating up to 50 new jobs in the process and safeguarding the future of the existing workforce.

Miriam Nicholls, business development manager for Arun, said she was “delighted” that Waitrose was coming to town.

Should Littlehampton roll out the welcome mat for Waitrose when it takes over the Somerfield store in Anchor Springs two months from now?
