Volunteer drivers are urgently wanted to help run the Hastings Dial-a-Ride service and make a difference to members of the community who unable to use public transport.

Hastings Dial-a-Ride is a door-to-door transport service provided by Hastings Community Transport to benefit the elderly or people of any age, including children, who have difficulty accessing public transport due to permanent disability or illness.

Volunteers must be aged between 25-65 years of age and hold a full driving licence, preferably with a group D entitlement.

Volunteer Passenger Escorts aged between 18-65 are also needed.

Full training will be given and out of pocket expenses will be paid.

This vital community service enables people to get out and about to go shopping, visit friends, go to clubs, hospital or doctors appointments etc.

The vehicles used are designed to offer easy access with tail-lifts/ramps that can be used by those who cannot easily climb steps or who use a wheel chair. Journeys could include hospital visits, doctors appointments or shopping and leisure activities. For details on volunteering contact Dave Lewis on 01424 436868 between 9am-noon.
