The Diplodocus Longus skeleton was sold at Summer Place Auctions, as part of an ‘evolution’ sale.

The female dinosaur, which has been named ‘Misty’, was discovered by dinosaur hunter Raimund Albersdoerfer and his children in Wyoming.

The skeleton is extremely rare - this specimen joins only a handful of other known examples.

It was estimated to be sold for between £400,000 and £600,000.
