Police news.

Police cordoned off part of Hastings town centre following reports of a ‘threatening phone call’.

Officers closed the road by the town hall from the turret to the front of the Priory Meadow at 2.15pm today (Thursday, January 28).

The Community Contact Centre was evacuated for a short period of time, but staff were later allowed back inside the building.

A spokesperson for Hastings Borough Council said it is ‘business as usual’ at the town hall following the incident.

Sussex Police have not released any further information about the incident at this stage.
