UPDATE: Suspected illegal immigrants found in St Leonards from Middle East

The seven suspected illegal immigrants arrested in St Leonards yesterday (Wednesday, May 11) are all from the Middle East, according to immigration officers.

Four of the group are from Iran and the other three are from Iraq.

The Iranians included a 35-year-old woman and 40-year-old man, and two children.

The Iraqis included a 21-year-old woman, a 34-year-old man and one child.

A Home Office spokesman said: “All seven must report to Immigration Enforcement regularly while their cases are progressed.

“Where someone is found to have no right to remain in the UK, we will take action to remove them.”
