UPDATE: Suspected illegal immigrants found in St Leonards from Middle East

Police arrested the group after appearing from a lorry on Stirling Road – four people are still being sought after reportedly leaving in a taxi.

Four of the group are from Iran and the other three are from Iraq.

The Iranians included a 35-year-old woman and 40-year-old man, and two children.

The Iraqis included a 21-year-old woman, a 34-year-old man and one child.

A Home Office spokesman said: “All seven must report to Immigration Enforcement regularly while their cases are progressed.

“Where someone is found to have no right to remain in the UK, we will take action to remove them.”
