Update: Charing Cross reopens - services still delayed

Charing Cross station has reopened following an apparent fire - but rail passengers are being warned to expect delays to services.

The station was evacuated after fire alarms were activated this lunchtime (Thursday, May 19).

However all lines have now reopened, but train operator Southeastern warns that services running in and out of the station may be delayed by up to 35 minutes or revised.

London Underground is accepting Southeastern tickets between London termini.

Southeastern services travel out of Hastings, West St Leonards, St Leonards Warrior Square, Crowhurst, Battle, Robertsbridge and Etchingham stations.
