Two men stabbed in Queens Road

Two men were stabbed in the same street within a week in separate attacks.

Last Wednesday a 21-year-old man was taken to the Conquest Hospital after being stabbed in Queens Road following a fight. He suffered a punctured lung.

Police said he was set upon while he was with friends close to the zebra crossing.

A 25-year-old Hastings man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) and has been released on bail until September 18.

And on Tuesday at about 5pm a 31-year-old man was stabbed several times in Queens Road.

He received several injuries, including cuts to his head, shoulder and ear. The victim was taken to the Conquest Hospital for treatment.

Police subsequently arrested two people.

Rachel Gordon, 26, of Malvern Way, has been charged with assault and possession of both cannabis and an offensive weapon.

She was due to appear before Hastings magistrates in court yesterday (Thursday).

Kevin Mitchell, 39, also of Malvern Way, has been charged with wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said last Wednesday's attack and Tuesday's stabbing were not being linked.
