Firefighters tackled an accidental fire and a car blaze in Hastings yesterday (Sunday, August 22).

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service appliances from Bexhill and Hastings were sent to Cornwallis Terrace following reports of a fire at around 3.50pm.

Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus tackled the accidental fire using two hose reel jets.

Later a Hastings Land Rover fire vehicle was requested to attend a derelict car blaze at about 5.05pm.

Firefighters used one hose reel to put out the fire.
