Sussex travel: evening update for Wednesday, July 22
Here is your evening travel update for Sussex on Wednesday, July 22.
The AA reports that the road is partially blocked with queueing traffic for two miles due to a burst water main on the A22 Hailsham Bypass Eastbound at A271 Lower Horsebridge (Boship Roundabout), which is affecting traffic on the approach to the roundabout.
There is also very slow traffic due to roadworks near Beauport Holiday Park in St Leonards causing delays back onto the A21 on A21 Sedlescombe Road North southbound.
The AA also reports slow traffic on the A27 Polegate Bypass Eastbound between The Throughbred Pub and A22 Polegate Road (Cophall Roundabout) in the construction area. Lane closures are causing delays.
There is queueing traffic and traffic heavier than normal on A259 Brighton Road both ways around A2025 South Street. The area is heavily affected by the earlier closure on the A27.
Traffic is also heavier than normal on the A259 High Street both ways at A283 Old Shoreham Road (The Bridge Inn roundabout), causing congestion to Worthing for eastbound traffic, and westbound traffic back to Southwick.
A message from the Editor, Gary Shipton:
In order for us to continue to provide high quality and trusted local news, I am asking you to please purchase a copy of our newspapers.
With the coronavirus lockdown having a major impact on many of our local valued advertisers - and consequently the advertising that we receive - we are more reliant than ever on you helping us to provide you with news and information by buying a copy of our newspapers.
Our journalists are highly trained and our content is independently regulated by IPSO to some of the most rigorous standards in the world. But being your eyes and ears comes at a price. So we need your support more than ever to buy our newspapers during this crisis.
Stay safe, and best wishes.
