More than 60 motorists caught speeding in Hastings

Police caught more than 60 speeding vehicles during a day of action in Hastings.

Officers from Hastings Police were positioned in St Helens Road between 2pm and 7.30pm on Tuesday (September 15) as part of Project Edward (Every Day Without a Road Death).

The project aims to educate motorists about the dangers on the road.

On Tuesday, officers caught 60 speeding vehicles. This included a dangerous motorcyclist who was caught driving at 51mph with a provisional licence, police said.

In addition, cars were pulled over for drivers and passengers not wearing seat belts, according to police. One driver was also pulled over for using their mobile phone.

Following on from this, police said officers will be continuing their efforts to catch dangerous drivers, particularly on roads that have been brought to their attention by the public.
