Man who died after being struck by car named

A man who died after he was struck by a car on Sunday has been named.

Stuart Maplesden, 49, of Battle Road, St Leonards, had just got out of another car near his home when he was hit by a silver Toyota Avensis just before 5.40am.

He sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Conquest Hospital but sadly died shortly afterwards.

Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact them quoting operation Malpas. Ring 0845 60 70 999.
