Long tailbacks on A259 between St Leonards and Bexhill

Gas main works are causing heavy traffic on the A259 between St Leonards and Bexhill this afternoon (Thursday, February 4).

Nick Hedges sent us this picture of the tailbacks on Bexhill Road, St Leonards.

He said it had taken him 20 minutes to get from Glyne Gap to Whyvale Garden Centre.

According to the AA, there are reports of slow traffic on Bexhill Road in both directions at the petrol station in the construction area.

Temporary traffic lights are in place due to gas main work, which is set to last until February 16.

There are also temporary traffic signals due to ongoing gas main work on Bexhill Road from Bridgeway to Bulverhythe Road.
