Busy weekend for firefighters in 1066 country

Firefighters had a busy weekend of crashes and fires in 1066 country.

An elderly man was taken to hospital following a fire in a living room at a property in St Leonards yesterday (September 13).

Two East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service crews were mobilised to Terrace Road at around 3pm but the fire was out on arrival.

The man involved in the incident was treated for breathing in smoke and paramedics attended.

Firefighters attended a three-vehicle car crash in St Leonards in the early hours of this morning (September 14).

One crew was mobilised to Fernside Avenue at 12.20am where they assisted other emergency services by making the area safe for the public.

Firefighters also assisted other emergency services at the scene of a car crash in Bexhill yesterday.

Two vehicles were involved in the incident at 1.45pm in Beeching Road.

Two crews attended and assisted by making the area safe for the public.
