Battle community transport group to resume some services

The Battle Area Community Transport will be restarting some of its services for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic.

Suspended since March 17, some of the volunteer-run services will resume from Monday (September 28).

These will initially be limited to weekday services.

On Mondays, the B72 service will run. Then on Tuesdays, the B67, B71, B73 and B79 will operate.

The B75 will run on Wednesdays and the B74 on Fridays.

The B80 to B90 services remain suspended until further notice and bus hire services will also remain suspended.

The community transport group said: “There will need to be a 50 per cent reduction in passenger seating capacity (i.e. a maximum of 8 persons), to aid social distancing.

“Please do not use our buses if you are displaying any Covid-19 symptoms.

“All seats must be pre-booked with the office on (01424) 870955. Names and contact details must be submitted to aid with test and trace. Additional hygiene measures will be adopted,

“We ask that everyone in the community respect our volunteers and to bear with us, as we find the safest way to restore our services in these difficult circumstances.”
