Town to celebrate Merrie England Day

A WEEK today Hastings will be transformed into a ye olde medieval court as the town celebrates Merrie England Day.

The brainchild of Pirate Day bigwig Roger Crouch, Merrie England Day takes place in the Old Town and town centre from mid morning until 7pm at night – with a host of activities provided.

And children will be encouraged to head down in fancy dress to mingle with Norman knights, Henry VIII and an array of wenches.
