Rockabubz, which launched in Worthing on Monday and is having its first session in Littlehampton, today, teaches youngsters the joys of the alphabet – through dance.

The scheme, set up by dance teacher Dani Heppenstall is the first of its kind to be launched in the area.

Dani, 31, has been working on it for the past six months with her 18-month-old son Blake and husband Jason, who wrote music for the class.

She said: “From having my little boy and being a dance teacher I felt there was a gap in the market for something new. It’s a way for children to learn the alphabet with dance moves. But it also helps them with life skills like balance and movement.”

She added: “Blake was my guinea pig. What he didn’t like, I didn’t include. It was great fun.”

Classes take place at the Heene Community Centre, Heene Road, Worthing on Mondays, and the Southfields Jubilee Centre, in Southfields Road, Littlehampton, on Thursdays from 9.45-10.40am for six to 18 months and then 10.45-11.40am for toddlers.
