Toast to European links

About 40 members of Bognor Regis Twinning Association toasted their links with Europe at a beaujolais breakfast.

The occasion at the home of founder members Wilf and Dora Archer is always one of the most popular events of the group's calendar.

Those present enjoyed a French-style start to the day and sampled the new season's Beaujolais Nouveau, the first of the wines to come on to the market each year.

Bognor's twinning with St Maur des Fosses was very much in mind during the meal.

The links with the German towns of Weil am Rhein and Trebbin were toasted as well.

A toast was also drunk to three association members who have reached 90 in the past year.

The youngest is Peter Whitton whose birthday was on November 20. The others are Les Allat and Bill Stamp.

They all still lead active lives.
