THE deadline for people to vote for their favourite charity pitch at this year’s Hastings Beer and Music Festival is tomorrow (Saturday).
Organisers from the Round Table have been pleased with the response to this year’s new initiative, Pitch 4 a Pitch, which gives an opportunity for local charities to win a pitch to raise much-needed funds and awareness at the festival, which runs on July 4, 5 and 6.
This year’s finalists are Hastings and Bexhill Rugby Club with St Michael’s Hospice with a rowing challenge, SASBAH with a wobbly mountain trike challenge, Demelza Hospice Care for Children with a circus stall and challenge, and West Hill Boxing Club with a punch bag speed test challenge.
Voting started last Saturday (June 8) and will close at noon tomorrow. Vote online at www.facebook.com/hastingsbeer.
James Beeching, from the Round Table, said: “We have been delighted with the response for this year’s new initiative and are confident this competition will run every year. The winner will have a chance to raise money and create real awareness over the course of the three days. We will also be handing over a whopping £500 cheque.
“I would like to thank all the eight charities that have taken the time to enter and wish the four finalists the best of luck.”
Tickets for the festival are on sale online, at Hastings Information Centre and Asda in Battle Road, St Leonards, between 9am and 5pm.
Next Saturday (June 22) the Round Table is showcasing the festival all day inside Priory Meadow where people can buy tickets and meet some of the bands.
