Thumbs Up for good service at store

DISABLED customers know they are welcome at the first large store in Bognor Regis to sign up to the Thumbs Up campaign.

Sainsbury’s joined the move to ensure those who have difficulty shopping are aware they can get help. The support from the Shripney Road store delighted Nicola Smith, the co-ordinator for the Bognor Regis and Chichester Thumbs Up campaign.

“We are pleased that Sainsbury’s is supporting us and we hope it will encourage other larger stores to follow them.

“It’s very important because it shows people they can get good service from Sainsbury’s. Sometimes, people with learning difficulties can find it hard to go shopping.

“They may be unable to read labels properly or reach a shelf,” she said.

Sainsbury’s manager Tim Maginnis said: “It was easy for us to sign up because this campaign is in keeping with our values.” Thumbs Up is run in this area by Chichester and Bognor Voice.
