Three St Leonards teenagers arrested over stolen bikes

Three teenagers from St Leonards were arrested on suspicion of stealing bicycles after some were taken in Eastbourne town centre on Sunday night (May 15).

Police are appealing for witnesses and bike owners after they may have been stolen from 7.30pm and 3.30am when the bicycles were seized.

Two 17-year-old boys and an 18-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of theft by patrolling officers on the Monday morning (May 16).

PC Ruth Parnell-Mace said: “If your bicycle was stolen in Eastbourne during the night of May 15-16, please get in touch.

“We would like to find out if these bikes are stolen, and if so return them to the rightful owners.”

The man and one of the boys were both questioned and bailed until June 21 while enquiries continue.

The other boy was questioned and bailed until July 1.
