Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident in Hastings in which a car suspected of being involved in crime was driven at high speed before being abandoned.
At 9.40pm on Friday, December 18, police officers in a car saw the blue Vauxhall Astra in Elphinstone Road near the junction of The Ridge.
The car made off as police approached, and drove at high speeds, which they followed west along The Ridge, left in Harrow Lane and then into Sedlescombe Road North.
The car was abandoned opposite the junction with Paynton Road in St Leonards.
Three men ran off but were arrested soon afterwards.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who saw the car, particularly the driver of a black Vauxhall Astra who had to take evasive action when the suspect vehicle was entering the mini roundabout at the bottom of Harrow Lane at the junction with Sedlescombe Road North.
A 31-year-old man from south-east London, arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, was released on police bail until 1 February while enquiries continue into the circumstances.
Two men from south London, aged 26 and 28, arrested on suspicion of burglary, were released without charge.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 101 quoting serial 1487 of 23/12.
