The search is on for Carnival Queen 2015

Hastings Old Town Carnival Committee has launched its search for its Carnival Queen for 2015.

The lucky winner will also be given the title Miss Hastings 2015. Entry forms are online on the carnival’s official website,

Entrants must be aged 14 years or over live in Hastings or St Leonards and not have previously won the Queen title though Princesses are welcome to apply.

They must be able to attend various events across the south east over the course of the year. Transport is provided.

A selection evening will be held on Sunday, April 19 from 6pm to 6.30pm at the East Hastings Sea Angling Association. Carnival spokesman Ion Castro said: “It’s not just about being a pretty face. We are looking for bright young people who can be ambassadors for our town.

“The Queen and her court attend all sorts of functions in and around Hastings and meet and talk to all sorts of people and of course the court float is the most important float in the carnival procession.

“One of last year’s princesses, Hannah Burgess, 16, enjoyed her year so much that she is now trying for the Crown and has already submitted her application.”
