The Rotary Club of Hastings

LAST Friday’s lunch meeting of the Rotary club of Hastings at Bannatyne’s was a part business meeting outlining some of the upcoming activities of the club.

These include a day trip to the battlefields of Ypres, a Mad Hatter’s tea party in aid of Aquabox, a Strauss concert at the Congress Theatre Eastbourne in aid of Hope and Home for Children and a Euro Meeting this year in Sardinia.

The Euro meeting is a meeting of eight European clubs, one from each country. They meet up annually rotating around each other’s home town. The Rotary Club of Hastings will play host to the Euro group in 2016 on the 950th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings.

The club is already making early plans for this prestigious event. The meeting also included a fun quiz organised by club member Peter Georgiadis.

Peter listed 20 questions which turned out to be real brain teasers and the high score of nine was testament to the difficulty of the questions.

The formula proved very popular and will undoubtedly be repeated in the future. For more information about the Rotary Club of Hastings visit
