MEMBERS of a gym in St Leonards had the chance to train with a professional Thai boxing champion during a recent visit.

Julie Kitchen, 14x Muay Thai World Champion, came to The Fighting Tigers gym in Castleham Road.

Beginners and experts alike were taught by her and her coach and husband Nathan Kitchen for three hours.

During this time they trained new pad techniques, intense fitness techniques and participated in a challenging circuit.

The Fighting Tigers also had the treat of watching part of Julie’s training regime on the pads, finished off with a question and answer session.

Andy Chambers, owner of the Fighting Tigers Gym, said: “It was an absolute pleasure to be able to welcome Julie and Nathan to our gym, they both informed me they absolutely loved Hastings and will be back very soon.

“They stayed at The Zanzibar Hotel and dined at both Pier Nine and Boulevard Book’s restaurants. Hastings has a lot to offer and it’s nice to know that a respected true world champion’ thinks so too.

“We are also overjoyed to announce that both Julie and Nathan are coming back to do another seminar on June 23. If anyone wants to attend this or find out more about what we they have to offer please contact The Fighting Tigers Gym on 01424 532377 or email or find us on Facebook: Fightingtigersgym Hastings.”
