Testicle marathon runner raises £3,500

A student from Bexhill, who ran yesterday’s London Marathon dress as a pair of testicles, has raised £3,585 for the Male Cancer Awareness Campaign - and the total is still rising.

Jack Woodward chose the unusual attire in an effort to raise awareness of testicular cancer after his housemate Rob Harris died of the disease aged just 21.

As well as friends and family, many strangers who have read about the former St Richard’s pupil’s exploits have donated to the cause.

On Jack’s Just Giving page, fellow marathon runner Becki wrote: “Was running alongside you at the marathon yesterday! Massive respect for finishing in that outfit.”

And Colleen added: “Saw the article about you on BuzzFeed - great cause, great costume and a great sense of humour! Hope you meet your target soon.”

Jack, who currently attends Portsmouth University, aims to raise a grand total of £5,000.
