Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenage motorcyclist was seriously injured after he collided with a bus in St Leonards.

The 17-year-old was travelling south on Bohemia Road when the driver of a parked car – a silver BMW 330 – opened their door.

The rider took evasive action, which caused him to collide with the bus, which was travelling in the opposite direction.

He was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with serious injuries, where he remains under close observation.

The incident happened just after 6.10pm on Tuesday (October 11).

A 27-year-old man from St Leonards was arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.

Anyone with any information is asked to email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101, quoting serial 1252 of 11/10.
