Taxi man to set up new fast-food outlet in town

THE owner of a taxi firm is planning to set up a new type of fast-food outlet in town.

Sam Nanji, who owns Sam’s Private Hire in Battle Road, wants to sell Indian curries from his premises while still maintaining his taxi business in the same base.

He was granted planning permission by the council last month to build an extension at his offices. Mr Nanji’s new venture will create at least six extra jobs, he said.

He stressed that his taxi business was not closing, as reported in the Observer.

Mr Nanji said: “I have been in the business for 15 years and the taxi service is very successful so we will not be shutting down.

“There will be an extension at the back as we only need a small office to book the jobs.

“This take-away business will offer instant curries prepared fresh throughout the day. Customers will be able to see all food on display at the counter.”
