Children have been able to swing to their hearts content after it was finally replaced at a play park in Hastings
The swing at Barley Play Space, off Boyne Road, was reinstated by owners AmicusHorizon last week after months of waiting.
Braidi Gurka, one of the children pictured, said: “I’m glad our swing is back, its been gone for so long.”
Hastings councillor James Bacon said he has been pressing for it to be replaced since before the election and is pleased to see it back.
“This swing has been something I have been asking for from AmicusHorizon since April and would like to thank them for installing this,” he said.
“I think the play space is wonderful for the families in the area but I look forward to engaging with Amicus and residents on how we can continue to improve and potentially fundraise for new play facilities in this area, particularly for toddlers.”
Amicus’ head of Hastings area Mike Thompson added: “We wanted to replace the swing as we know outdoor play is so important to children’s health and wellbeing. We’ve a strong desire to positively shape communities, helping to create places people are happy to call their home.
“It’s great to see how happy people are with the replacement swing and we hope it provides hours of fun for children in the area.”
