Police are investigating a suspected sexual assault in Alexandra Park.

Officers were called to the park just before 8.45pm yesterday (Monday, October 26) where a 41-year-old woman had been found unresponsive on the grass.

She was woken and taken to the Conquest Hospital for treatment for the effect of drugs.

She remained in hospital this morning (Tuesday, October 27), but was expected to be discharged later in the day.

The woman does not recall going to the park, but it is believed from a witness account she was seen there earlier in the company of a man.

Police are trying to establish the circumstances of how she came to be in the park and what happened to her when she was there.

Anyone who saw the woman in the park on her own or in the company of a man described as being in his 20s, and wearing a grey hooded top and black trousers, is asked to email or call 101 quoting Operation Ranmore.
