Hastings snapper Tim Clifton has had one of his photographs published in a charity calendar after winning a countywide competition.
The stunning photograph, which was taken by the old bathing pool site at St Leonards on Sea looking towards Bexhill and Beachy Head, was selected out of hundreds of entries in a competition organised by printers Evonprint to raise funds for children’s charity Chestnut Tree House.
The calendar, showcases the spectacular sights that Sussex has to offer with imagery that has been taken by local budding photographers.
Tim’s photograph, which was taken with his Song A77ii J, caught the judges eye and was chosen to be one of twelve winning entries for the 2016 calendar. He says he was delighted when he heard that he’d won. “I’m over the moon that my photograph was selected to be included within the charity calendar,” he said. “I’m very proud of where I live and when I saw the call out looking for images of Sussex I thought it would be great to submit a photo of St Leonards.
“I encourage everyone to buy a calendar, it is full of fantastic photos from around the county and aims to raise money for such a worthy local cause.”
Along with having his photograph published in the calendar Tim won a hamper worth £150.
Other winning photographs in the calendar, which cost £2, include shots of Chichester Cathedral, Petworth Deer Park, Bury Hill, and the Doughnut Sclupture on Brighton Beach.
Steve Rowland, Managing Director of Evonprint, urges people to support Chestnut Tree House (which provides vital specialist palliative care services) and purchase a calendar. “As well as raising money for this fantastic local charity, it also showcases what a beautiful county we live in and celebrates the talents within Sussex,” he said.
