Sun looks set to keep shinning

SUN lovers look set to keep on sizzling in Bognor Regis.

The sun has certainly had his hat on around the town last week, and forecasters predict the heatwave should continue for at least another week.

Weather readings for the town show a maximum temperature of 26.7 degrees was reached last Friday in some seven hours and 30 minutes of sunshine.

Residents and visitors alike flocked to the beach and seafront over the weekend to catch some rays while taking having a splash in the sea and watching the International Bognor Birdman Rally.

“Having the sun shinning really makes all the difference. Bognor in my opinion is defiantly the sunniest place to be,” said Karen Gill, of Pagham.

The shingle has also been covered throughout the week with families and even the odd worker making the most of the heat.

Olivia Tyler, who works in the town centre, said: “I have been coming down to the beach every day on my lunch break to enjoy the sun. It would be a shame not to make the most of it.

“I have even had a little paddle in the sea to cool off, even the water is warm.”
