TEACHERS and children danced their way towards a pot of new funds at a primary school fair.

A local dance troupe joined forces with a samba band at Castledown School in Priory Road.

Parents and pupils packed into the school field to play games including hook-a-duck and enjoy face painting and singing.

Guitar music gave the day a distinctly musical feel, and the fine weather ensured a strong turnout.

Headteacher Neil Small described the day as ‘a great success’, and said the money raised would go towards developing outdoor learning spaces at the school.

He thanked the school’s recently formed Friends Association, who organised the day, adding: “The school has enjoyed a second year of success with the Friends, and continues to grow, enhance and develop rapidly.”
