Pestalozzi fundraising officer James Bacon says the walk was a great success. “It brought together local dog walkers and nature lovers, giving participants an exclusive opportunity to see the beautiful estate of the Pestalozzi Village,” he said.

James says attendees experienced a beautiful nature ramble in glorious sunshine followed by well-deserved tea and cake and a superb raffle with lots of doggie-related prizes.

With around 50 walkers attending, the event raised nearly £200 for the charity which enables young people from nine different countries to complete their secondary education.

Sedlescombe resident and dog owner, Juanita Gouws took part in the Dog Dawdle for the second time and says it was a lovely day. “It was great to see so many people attending this year,” she said.

“As a Pestalozzi supporter myself, it’s always nice to see new faces getting involved with these charity events, helping to spread the word about Pestalozzi and raise money for a great cause.”

James said the event proved to be very popular and they have had lots of requests to host another walk soon, adding: “We are very grateful for the support that we received particularly from Pets at Home and Jazzy Dogs who kindly donated raffle prizes.”
