A NEW block of student accommodation is proposed by Gladedale to be built next to the existing college building in Station Plaza.
Alongside 166 apartments for University of Brighton students, a number of private apartments are featured in the plans.
Hastings Borough Council will be holding a pre-application forum on Thursday, April 18 at the University of Brighton, in Priory Street, from 6pm, at which the developers will outline their plans.
The aim of the pre-application forum is to improve councillor and public involvement in the pre-application process, and also to provide a greater understanding for developers of community expectations of significant developments.
Members of the public are welcome to attend although they will not be able to comment or raise questions of speakers on the night.
Instead they should speak to their ward councillor or residents association if they wish to raise a particular point.
A Gladedale spokesman said: “This is an amendment to the current proposed scheme for the site, for which planning has already been granted, to develop three buildings of private residential apartments.
The spokesman added: “Under the new plans we are considering using one of these buildings to create the purpose built student accommodation while the remaining two buildings will continue to be developed for private residential use.”
