Striding out to raise money for St Michael’s Hospice

BUDDING athletes are invited to join a number of charity walks on behalf of a St Leonards-based charity.

St Michael’s Hospice, in Upper Maze Hill, is running several fun events both for new and experienced walkers and runners.

There will be an Easter Fun Run on Saturday, April 16 at Alexandra Park, aimed at under-12s, which will include an Easter egg hunt, colouring competition and fancy dress contest.

The South Downs Trekathon, organised by Discover Adventure, will be held on Saturday, May 7.

This tough walk over rolling downs and cliffs is 26 miles, so is for experienced walkers. The cost, including transport, is £49 and you will be expected to raise a minimum of £100 sponsorship. For details go to

Hastings Runners’ Keith Chandler Memorial five-mile road race is on Sunday, May 15, starting at Hastings town hall.


The Moonlight Walk, starting and ending at St Mark’s Church, Little Common, is on July 16. Entry is £5 to register.
