Stormy weather batters Crawley

Stormy weather battered the town last night leaving trees uprooted and some properties damaged.

Among the roads in which trees have fallen were Brighton Road, Horsham Road, Elmcroft Court, Three Bridges; Gregory Close, Maidenbower; and Worth Park Avenue.

Mick Smith, of Worth Park Avenue said: “I just wanted to say what a fantastic bunch of neighbours we have here in Worth Park Avenue.

“This big tree came down in our road and within hours the neighbours had joined together in clearing the path and road.

“Well done - what a community spirit!”

In Elmcroft Court, a large tree came down onto a block of flats, causing damage to the roof.

Three Bridges
