Still a chance you could be Bognor's next queen

There is still time to become Bognor Regis Carnival Queen for 2009.

The deadline for entries to the revived competition is April 23. The competition has been launched by town councillors as part of their decision to bring back the carnival.

This will take place along the seafront on June 13 for the first time in four years.

Any women who would like to represent the town at the event, and at other town council functions during the year, should send a head and shoulders photograph and some brief details about themselves to the Observer.

The newspaper will publish all the candidates' photos and their names and ages to enable readers to vote for their favourites.

All the entries will be published in the paper on April 30. There will then be a two week voting period until May 14 using a special coupon which will appear in the Observer.

Information supplied by candidates must include contact details, which will not be published.
