The children and staff wore red, white and blue for a morning of royal fun and games.

Jeanette Clapp, manager, said: “We sang happy birthday to Her Majesty to wish her a very happy day.

“Some of the children thought she was going to join with us as we held our party but we explained she was very busy at Windsor Castle, enjoying her birthday with her family and friends.”

Together, the children made a special birthday card using a collage of stamps that they had collected.

“We have posted it on to Buckingham Palace and very much look forward to possibly receiving a royal response, as we have done on previous celebrations,” added Jeanette.
