One of the shop workers, a 34-year-old man, sustained a minor injury to his hand during the knife-point robbery at the One Shop in Sedlescombe North Road at around 10.10pm.

The suspect made off with approximately £690 in cash. He is described as white, 6’, of slim to medium build and with stubble.

He was wearing a light coloured mask with red markings around the eyes and mouth, a blue hooded top with a small motif, dark denim jeans and yellow gloves.

DC Dominic Brown said: “We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen the offender or witnessed the incident.

“It is possible that someone tried to come into the shop as the robbery was taking place and we are extremely keen to speak to this person.”
