St Mary’s held up by a young mob

The Buckswood ‘mob’ took over St Mary-in-the-Castle this week to perform the drama department’s latest production of the musical Bugsy Malone.

Local primary school children were treated to a matinee performance, and an evening performance saw a full house for the entertainment, all were impressed by the quality of the acting, singing and stage management.

The production included more than 40 students, acting and working behind the scenes, and the crew had been rehearsing at Buckswood School and St Mary’s for the past six weeks top make sure their performance was word perfect.

Buckswood School’s drama teacher Michelle Brown said: “St Mary-in-the-Castle is such a wonderful venue. The students have gained so much from being able to use a professional stage, lighting and sound set up, thank you to everyone who involved.”
