The Friends of St Mary in the Castle will be supporting the Board of Trustees when they take over the running of the venue in 2015.
The Friends plan a series of concerts where the performers have famous fathers, starting with Hastings own Chris Hurchinson on February 8th. His father was the crooner Hutch famous in the 1940s and 50s.
One of the last concerts by jazz trumpeter Kenny Ball was held at St Mary’s before hed died in 2013. Although unwell he managed to perform the second half of a fantastic performance with his Jazzmen. Now his son Keith has taken over the Jazzmen, keeping the legend alive with such hits as Midnight on Moscow.
Kenny Ball Junior and his Jazzmen will be appearing at St Mary’s on April 18.
