St Leonards men arrested after dog attack

Police have arrested two men after a dog was attacked in St Leonards on Saturday (December 9).

Police say a 44-year-old man and a 38-year-old man, both from St Leonards, were arrested after an incident in St Johns Road at 2.40pm.

The 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and causing an animal to fight, while the a 38-year-old man was detained on suspicion of possession of cannabis and being a person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control, police say.

Both men have been released under investigation.

Police say the dog suffered an injury to its head in the incident and sadly had to be put to sleep by a vet.
