St Leonards man charged over One Stop robberies

A man from St Leonards has been charged over two knifepoint robberies which happened at One Stop shops over the weekend.

Kevin O’Toole, 38, unemployed, of Eversfield Place, has been charged with robbery, attempted robbery and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon.

The charges relate to incidents in One Stop branches in Blackman Avenue on March 10 and Ore Valley Road on March 11.

O’Toole will appear at Lewes Crown Court on April 12.

A 40-year-old man from St Leonards has also been arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of a controlled drug.

He has been bailed until May 16 while police enquiries continue.
