Three East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service appliances from Hastings were mobilised to Battle Road following reports of a bush on fire at around 5.30am.

The external fire was causing smoke logging to a nearby property and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus ventilated the property using a Positive Pressure Ventilation Fan.

The cause of the fire was found to be deliberate.
