Organiser Ollie Campion said: “This year restaurants are putting their chef’s thinking caps on to come up with a smörgåsbord of game dishes not just Wild Boar.

“Already there are dishes including mallard, partridge, pheasant, rabbit and venison.

“There are also several game tasting events and menus such as the Game of Rye event at the Landgate Bistro, which includes a “Squirrel Amuse Bouche”.

Events and activities planned as part of the event include a Wild Boar Hog Hunt through the town, concerts and walks.

There will also be a chance to spot a real wild boar in its natural habitat with a Wild Boar Woodland Walk.
