The Bowskill Trophy, presented in memory of Cyril Bowskill who, with his wife Joan, was a great supporter of Hastings Week, was this year awarded to the Historic Commercial Vehicle Society, which organises the Sprat & Winkle run.
The trophy is awarded to a person, group or organisation who has done most to promote the prestige of the week.
It was presented last Friday (January 23) by Mayor Bruce Dowling assisted by Hastings Week vice-chairman Ion Castro. The Sprat & Winkle run starts in Sevenoaks, Kent and ends up with a magnificent display on the Stade Open Space. The award recognised the huge effort invested by the society’s Andy Garner who sadly passed away last year not long before the historic run. More about Hastings Week is at www.1066.net/hastings-week.
