Sidley sets up public order meeting

SIDLEY residents fed up with anti social behaviour are to hold a public meeting with police, Rother Homes and the council on July 20 to air their concerns.

The newly-formed Glovers Lane Residents' Association and Neighbourhood Watch has called the meeting.

It will demand action from authorities over issues such as crime, vandalism, intimidation and policing levels.

The association was formed as a reaction to a growing fear of crime in Sidley.

Residents are reluctant to speak out individually due to a fear of reprisals.

A similar meeting was organised last year by local councillors Keith and Helen Bridger and Insp Max Mosley about the same issues.

But residents say little has been done to address their concerns.

The meeting will take place at Sidley Sports Club at 7.30pm.
