Sidley conmen strike

A PAIR of conmen have cheated a Sidley resident out of £400 in cash.

PC Claire Middleton of the Bexhill Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "On August 21 a lady in Claremont Road had two men knock at her door and offer to sell her some carpet and fit it for her.

"She paid them 400 and they then told her that they had forgotten a vital tool and would be back. "Needless to say they did not return and left with the cash in 20 notes."
